Chilly, grey and waves

Hello Friends,

Swell increased steadily yesterday and this morning 0600 MHL data showed 2.6 m of 11-12 sec from the S by SSE (162-164°). As the pictures taken 90 minutes later show, Dee Why is seeing sets into the head + range.  Unfortunately wind was 15-20 kts from the SSE at report writing time – which is above the Bureau’s forecast of 10-15 kts SE, Throw in the 80% chance of showers, and it’s not the most appetizing picture. But, there are definitely waves.

Tide was hitting low just as I took the pictures and is now coming into the 1.5 m high at 1355.

According to the Bureau’s outlook, tomorrow will see a similar combination of wind and SE swell with more cloudy, rainy skies. And Wednesday currently is shaping to be much the same, ie more onshores and SE swell. So, not exactly hopeless, but you’ll want to be keen.

While swell should continue in the metre to metre plus all week, the power trend (period) looks like being steadily downward.

Have yourself a top old Monday everyone!
