"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Clean little waves this morning

Hello Friends,

Nice morning and nice, if soft, little windswell making for short rides at the few magnets picking up the energy – such as it is. Wind not a factor before 0700 and skies were mostly sunny. At 0600 swell off Sydney was coming from the SSW (190°) at 6 seconds. The fact that there are little waves is a pleasant surprise.

Swell is set to come around to the south and push up by lunch time. Of course by then the wind’ll be into it from the south at 20-30 kts. And it’s set to stay that way through tomorrow.

Tide’s coming into the 1.6 m high at 1050, before dropping back to the low at 1710.

Outlook is not fabulous I have to say. The southerly doesn’t seem likely to bring much in the way of quality and by the time we get into next week the prospects are pretty grim. Right now there doesn’t seem to be much hope for any action until Friday or thereabouts. Hope they’re wrong!

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is promoting northerly winds along the north coast, while a trough moving up the south coast is bringing a southerly change in its wake. This southerly change will move through the north coast today. On Sunday, a new high pressure system is expected to move across from the west.
