Little waves, big climate strike

Hello Friends,

A mild breezy start to the global #ClimateStrike day. Yours truly is getting ready to bus it into the Domain with family and friends, so I’ll be passing on this morning’s soft knee to waist high wind swell bumps at Dee Why. Wind was already 8-10 kts NE as of 0800. Swell was 1.6 metres at a gutless 8 seconds from the SE. By this afternoon the Bureau tells us the wind will be belting along from the NE. That’s a summery set of numbers, so if you’re keen, there might be a windswell bump in the waist plus range at semi-protected summer wind swell spots. An extra day of mostly sunny conditions should also help to knock down the run-off induced pathogen load a bit too. No use risking getting crook for 2 star surf conditions.
My plan is to take a few pics of #ClimateStrike to share via my socials. They’ll be tagged #RealSurf #ClimateStrike

Plausible for a fat fishy or a mal at 0800

Weather Situation
A strong and slow-moving high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge towards New South Wales, and is bringing a gradual return to northeasterly winds to all coastal waters. Winds are forecast to increase on today ahead of a cold front, which will bring a southerly change to the southern coast later Saturday and to central parts on Sunday before stalling. A second front will follow on Monday, pushing the change to the Queensland border by Tuesday.
