Little lines coming into Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Light NNW winds beginning to push smoke in from the record number of fires across NSW. Swell is dead south (182°) and, in line with predictions, has into the 2 metre range at 12 seconds. There’s definitely more of a line showing at the Dee Why end of the beach and there were even a few folks out at the point waiting hopefully around for a set. But to get the maximum size, you’ll be heading to the northern ends and south magnets where I’d be expecting shoulder high with the odd plus. The Bureau says the swell will peak this morning and the models showing it fading back overnight into tomorrow. As always I’m keen to see what the Goat thinks about the coming surf week’s prospects when he rolls out his forecast later today.

We’re heading to a scorcher today with a high of 34C along the coast and air quality is pretty bad. Water temperature is sitting on 20C and the next tide is a low at 0935. It’ll be back to a moderate 1.38 m high at 1545.

Have a good one.

A POOR Air Quality Forecast alert is issued by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) due to forecast elevated PM2.5 and ozone levels in Sydney for Thursday 5 December 2019.

A few waiting at the point as a little line comes into the beach at 0745

Lines showing up the beach, maybe more north from there
