Happy Christmas waves

Hello Friends,

It doesn’t always work out this way for all the kiddies with brand new boards, but if you don’t mind lumpy, bumpy and scrappy conditions, there are a few waves to be had. Dee Why was showing sets into the shoulder plus range along the beach while it looked to be a little bit smaller and less consistent for the crew at the point. Given the size and bumpiness, it’s not really suitable for beginners at most places. Quality is at the low end of the scale but at least there’s energy in the mix.
As of 0800 the wind was ENE at 4-7 kts and tide was just about to hit a 1.86m high (It’s back to low at 1500). Skies were partly cloudy with minimal smoke haze. We’re heading to a high of 26C this afternoon, buy which time the wind should be a summer standard 15-20 kts from the NE. So, up into the north corners per usual. Ocean temp is on 21C. The MHL buoy shows the main energy was coming at us from the SSE. As of 0500 the Sydney buoy was registering 1.8 metres of 14 second energy from 160-162°.
The models show the longer period component fading out over the next 24 hours, so we can expect the solid sets to drop out of the mix as we return to mainly short period and floppy wind bump in the waist high range through the weekend.
Have a great Christmas day and may there be much joy and laughter for you and yours.
