Smoke and heat and knee high

Hello Friends,

Climbed aloft to take the pictures and although skies were blue straight overhead, looking to the south you could see and smell the smoke coming our way. Heaps of fires still going north and south of us, so no end in sight to the bad air days for us.

Here comes the smoke

You could take the board to the beach, but don’t expect much more than about thigh high on the sets at Dee Why. Out at sea there is a 7 second, 1.5 metre north wind bump, so no immediate prospect of an improvement to the surf. We’re set for a south change tomorrow night, so Tuesday morning should see SE wind and a reasonable perk in the swell. Looking at the models, swell could be up to 3 metres, but period is projected to be 8-9 seconds, so the biggest spots will be blown out and the corners will likely be a lot smaller than 3 metres on faces.
Have a good one.
