"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Holding pattern day

Hello Friends,

According to the buoy data we have a little under a metre from the NE at 13 seconds, but I couldn’t see any obvious signs of 13 second energy at Dee Why. Wind was out of the north at around 10 kts as of 0730. As you can see from the picture, there’s nothing really showing this morning. A good day for other activities I’d say.
Looking at the models, it seems that the prospect of an energetic south pulse has improved overnight. The latest projections are saying that we could see the first sets tomorrow afternoon, then on Wednesday it should really start to fill in as it heads toward a peak in the 3-4 metre range from the south on Thursday. There should be more approachable and fun size stuff at south magnets on Friday morning if the models have it right.
Have a good Monday and maintain your distance, wash your hands and cough into your elbow.

No waves this morning

Weather Situation
A cold front is forecast to cross the state today, with northwesterly winds turning westerly later today in the wake of its passage. Winds will then turn strong south to southwesterly as the front reaches the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and deepens into a complex low pressure system offshore. While this low will head quickly eastwards during the mid-week, it is still expected to send large and powerful surf along the New South Wales coast from Wednesday.
