The Goat’s Surf Forecast

The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 2 July 2020: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Beautiful offshore conditions this arvo, with some pretty little lines rolling in.  It was nice to see someone out there enjoying them.

Not for me though … I decided I’d take this week off surfing, as it seemed like a good time to get some maintenance work done on the equipment… It had to be done sometime.

The usual stuff that comes from wear and tear having fun in the sun … have a few dings repaired, patching up some stuff that needs fixing, and so on, in the hope that it might improve my surfing and peace of mind at least.

It’s not my board’s fault…. It’s in A1 condition…

I was talking about me!                 Gotcha didn’t I.                Hahaha

Anyhoo… let’s see if TG has made the right decision…

Friday: around 1 metre or so South East

Saturday: swell showing outside but with a lot off SSW, so not much on the coast.. say 1 metre or so at places open to dead South

Sunday: coming up from dead South, with a bit of attitude.. let’s say 1-2 metres, 2 metres or maybe more at dead South spots

Monday:  around 1-2, 2 ish metres dead South

Tuesday: say 2 ish, and it should be getting into protected South corners – which will be crowded of course for the school hols

Wednesday: ditto with some oomph behind it

Thursday: dittoish and with a bit of grunt.

Did TG make the right decision choosing this week to stay out of the water???

Audience participation is invited… It’s a game for the whole family! 🙂

Say “Yes” or “No”… (to yourself if no one else can hear you.)

Those who said “No, he should get out there”… clearly haven’t seen TG surf for quite a while eh?  That would include young X who said he saw me get a great wave off rocks the other day – except I haven’t been in the water. Bless his heart… he’s confusing me with a TG of some years back maybe.

Those who said “Yes”, agree with me.  I don’t think it would be suitable or enjoyable for TG anyway, dings fixed or not.  And it should be all about Having Fun … Right??!  He’ll watch you maybe.

A final word before everyone goes off to enjoy the school holidays here or elsewhere in NSW>>>

I had someone who I hadn’t seen for a while greet me this week and he was about to shake my hand.. I backed off and said “no can do”. He looked surprised and said: “Have you got it??” (!!)

No I haven’t got it!!… But I don’t think he “gets it”.. any more than the people in Victoria who are now back in lock down again “got it” last week!!

Let’s not go back there eh??  Just follow the official advice. It’s not that hard.

Have fun. Stay safe.

Water temp is getting cooler and the whales are hurrying north past us closer inshore now cause the warmer current is way offshore… Isn’t that interesting…
