Still crazy this morning

Hello Friends,

Dee Why’s still off the possible surf list for most of us this morning. Swell peaked yesterday but it was still hitting 4.7 m at 13 seconds from the SSE as of 0600. Wind was kicking along at 17-21 kts from the WSW as of 0820. The low is moving slowly eastward toward NZ, so the big conditions and the WSW wind should continue today and tomorrow, but there will be a very gradual decline. It’s Thursday, so the Goat should roll out his weekly dose of surf wisdom later today.
The takeaway for now is that any place with exposure to the main swell direction will be off the menu today. If you’re keen to get wet, the usual extreme southerly options such as Collaroy or south Palmy may be more approachable but that said, there’s plenty of water moving around, so study the conditions before wading out.
Go well and stay safe everybody!

Solid set catches surfer out of position

Lots of lines at the point

Still nutty up the beach

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure system is centred over the central Tasman Sea. This system is whipping up blustery winds and powerful waves along parts of the New South Wales coast, with conditions gradually easing later in the week as the low moves east towards New Zealand and a high pressure ridge moves over the state from the west.
