Fun looking little waves at Dee Why this morning at both the point and along the beach. It’s around the waist to chest high mark on the sets, which makes sense given that the swell’s only a touch over the metre mark from the ESE at 10-11 seconds. Wind was 5-10 kts from the NW down at North Head as of 0730. It’s expected to kick up into the 15-20 kt range from the NW though. Tide’s high at 0850 and then back to low at 1425. Weather should be sunny, with a high of 22C. Water is still on 17C. Waves should stick around at about the current intensity all day.
Tomorrow looks like being a windy one, albeit offshore. The models show the swell coming up a little and the weather staying sunny. Thursday should be sunny in the morning with more westerly wind and swell hanging in there. Friday currently looks like being very rainy with south swell lighting up the usual locations.

Northwesterly winds are expected to shift west to southwesterly during today and Wednesday as a cold front crosses the region. Winds along the southern waters may strengthen as a complex low pressure system, associated with the cold front, moves to the east of Tasmania. Following this, winds will slowly turn northeasterly by Friday, as the front and its associated low move towards New Zealand.
