"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Micro to flat but otherwise beautiful

Hello Friends,
The occasional waist to chest high set of yesterday has turned into the occasional ankle to knee high set this morning. Although the offshore buoys are still seeing some longer period stuff, there was no evidence of it anywhere I checked this morning as I prepped for the usual Saturday morning surf chat with Simon Marnie on ABC 702’s Weekend Show. As the picture indicates, the waves were not only tiny, they were utterly gutless as well. You’ll need to be very patient and very keen today.
Depending on how hard and how late it blows tonight, there might possibly be a little short period waist high wind bump at NE magnets for the early on Sunday – but I’m not overly hopeful on that front. Periods will be in the 7-8 second range according to the models through to Tuesday. Next hope of decent swell is a mid-week east pulse – but there could be a lot of straight onshore wind and cloudy skies with it…
Surface conditions were smooth under sunny skies, but there’s a strong wind warning for summer-force NE’rly wind this afternoon.
Swell at sea was 1.4 metres at 13-14 seconds from the SE (143°) and wind at 0630 was 3 kts from the north. First tide of the day will be the 1.56m high at 0900 (the 0.41 low’s at 1500). Weather should be sunny all day, with a high of 25C. Current water temperature along the Sydney coast is 17C.
Go well with your day everyone!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is strengthening while maintaining a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast. This pattern will see northerly winds increasing in most coastal areas during the weekend, before a low pressure trough brings a southerly change over the southern and central parts of the coast early in the new week.
