Cooler, cloudy and southerly bump

Hello Friends,

8-11 kts of SSE wind under overcast skies as we head to a partly cloudy day with a high of 24C. As the pictures show, last night’s south change has kicked up a little scrappy looking swell in the waist high range. It’s a biggish 3.4 metres from the S by SSW out at sea with a period close to 10 seconds, but that acute swell angle means it’s mostly missing our coast. Tide is currently coming into a 1.74m high at 0900, so that’s probably not helping much either. Water is on 21C and quality is good everywhere according to Beachwatch.
It looks like the wind will stick around all day and that we can expect the current swell intensity to fade as the wind direction swings to the NE around midday.
There should be lumpy bumpy stuff around all week, but I’m not seeing much to get really excited about. Basically it looks as though we’re in a marginal pattern of bumpy, weak wind swell that is typical for this time of year. That said, the models are still showing a 13-14 second dead south 1.3 m pulse for Friday, so here’s hoping it’ll refract into a few spots for us.
Go well with your Monday everybody!
