Late because I went for a surf at the point and then the beach. Although there were 14 second period sets, the swell just wasn’t lighting up the point. Instead there were long waits for short rides.
Over in the busy beachbreak sets were solid head high but the banks were not great so it was mostly big crumbly shut downs. South wind was chewing it up by 1000 but water was pleasantly cool, so it was nice just being in the ocean with a bit of energy.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system is moving east across the Tasman Sea allowing the next trough and southerly change to affect southern waters during today before stalling and decaying over central parts of the coast. Following this, a new high is forecast to strengthen over the Tasman Sea during Saturday, with coastal winds once again shifting northerly. A cold front will shift winds southerly over southern and central parts during Sunday.
