Sunny surfy Friday

Hello Friends,

Distinct south line showing in the ocean this morning. Skies were sunny and the wind was out of the SW at 9-10 kts as of 0800. As you can see from the pics, it isn’t big – yet. Set waves at the point and the beach were in the waist high range, but that should change soon as a fresh, strong south pulse starts to fill in.

At 0800 it was 1.5 m at 10 seconds from 164° and tide was right on the low. By the time it’s back to high at 1405, the skies will be clouding up as the wind comes around to the S-SE and ramps into the 15-25 kt range, and the swell should be 2 to 3x as big according the Bureau.

As always, the Mighty Goat has rolled out a weekend + week ahead surf forecast for your consideration.

I’ll keep an eye on things, so maybe check back later to see if I’ve added any more pics. Stay safe and have a good one.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system well south of the Bight is extending a ridge across New South Wales. A cold front approaching the south coast will move north along the coast today, bringing fresh to strong southerly winds, with a large southerly swell developing in its wake. Winds are expected to ease during the weekend as the high moves from the Bight to the Tasman Sea, although powerful southerly swells are likely to linger through to at least Sunday.
