Fading swell Saturday

Hello Friends,

A swampy 1.8 m high tide at 0800 plus a mainly SSE swell that’s dropped from 2.1 m yesterday afternoon to 1.3 m with a 9 second period at daybreak, means minimal surf options this morning. At least the wind looks like staying light and from the north quarters until this afternoon when it’s expected to settle to the NE.

The models show it sticking around at about the current intensity all day, so as the tide drops, I’d hold out some hope for a few more locations coming into play.

If the swell models have it right, tomorrow should be about the same size and maybe Monday too. Tuesday’s currently shaping to be southerly, so waves should get bigger but surf options will be minimal. Wind could mellow out on Wednesday morning for the early, plus there could still be some south energy left to play with.

Weather Situation
A weak ridge of high pressure across the state will be displaced by a trough of low pressure crossing the southern half of the state later today. This will bring another coastal southerly change between late Saturday and Sunday. Southerly airstream will remain early new week as a strong high pressure system slowly moves across the state from the west.
