Offshores going hard this morning

Hello Friends,

Westerly was blowing hard as of 0900 so conditions looked to be nice and smooth at Dee Why. But you could see it was whipping up the white horses out on the horizon, and that appeared to be suppressing the 1.65 m 9-second SE swell. As the picture shows, there was a Sunday crowd hanging out just north of the surf club, but it didn’t look like they were catching many. Size is in the knee to waist high rang on the sets.
The good news is that the Bureau expects the swell to ramp up as the day goes along and tomorrow could be pretty solid. Managing the firehose in the face offshore wind may be a challenge.
The good news is that we should have waves of some sort all week according to most of the models.
Have yourself a great day everyone.
