Cultivate your patience

Hello Friends,

Dee Why was looking glassy and ankle to knee high with the very occasional waist high bomb set on a mild and pretty morning. Swell at sea was up just faintly from this time yesterday and was getting closer to the metre mark on average. There’s some 12 second component in the mix and dominant direction as of 0840 was 147°, so there should be little, gentle bumps at lots of places. Tide is currently coming off the 0700 low as it fills into a 1.3 metre high at 1300.

Weather should stay partly cloudy as we head to a high of 24C. Beachwatch says the ocean beaches are all clear and that water temp is sitting on 21C.

Longer term, the swell models tell us that energy levels should bump up a little tomorrow and Tuesday, and that the mornings should see light offshores. Very autumnal. The back half of the work week looks to be southerly on the wind front, but with increasing easterly swell too. A bomb ECL no longer appears imminent, but right now Friday is shaping to be an interesting combo of 2+ metre east swell and light offshore wind…

Go well everybody!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southeastern Tasman Sea will gradually move away to the east over the next couple of days while a frontal system currently approaching Bass Strait is forecast to slip to the south. An upper level low will move across NSW on Tuesday resulting in the development of a surface trough that will bring a weak southerly change to the south coast on Tuesday, extending northwards on Wednesday.
