Hello Friends,
It’s here. At first light, the offshore buoys were seeing 5 metres of 12 second swell coming in from 171° (S by SSE). Wind was WSW at 13-18 kts at the North Head weather station, but down at Wattamolla it was hammering in at 33-40 kts. Skies were partly cloudy and the showery stuff looked to be sitting just off shore.
Tomorrow should see the swell subside into the 2-3 metre range but surf options will be limited because it’s shaping to be blowing hard southerly all day. Monday morning could see a couple metres of energy out of the SE along with breezy SW-SSW winds. By Tuesday it looks like simmering down into more routine but surfable 1-2 metre SE-ESE swell with morning offshores.
Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is bringing fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds, reaching gale force south of Coffs Harbour Saturday. Winds will ease by Sunday as the low moves towards New Zealand.
