More surf and sunny skies

Hello Friends,

Still swell around this morning, but it looked to be less consistent and a bit smaller on average than yesterday morning. Swell at sea was 1.8 metres at 9 seconds from the SE-SSE (152°). The bigger sets at the point were around the shoulder high mark and along the beach they were more into the head and a bit range. Wind was SW 7-9 kts by 0930. Tide hit high at 0900 and is back to a lowish 0.3 m at 1455.

Swell’s predicted to fade as the day goes along and by early afternoon the wind should be coming from the NE as we head to a high of 22C under sunny skies.

Tomorrow looks like being smaller again. I’m guessing waist high sets with the odd bigger one at the better exposures.

Great to see the vaccination numbers creeping upward steadily at the COVID Live site . Let’s keep the transmission down with masks while we build up the same levels of immunity that have spared us from polio, smallpox, measles, mumps, whopping cough and so many of the dreadful diseases that afflicted our parents’ and grandparents’ generations.

Stay safe, stay happy!
