"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny, sideshore and small to tiny

Hello Friends,

There’s been a steady north breeze all night and as of 0730 this morning it was 6-10 kts. That made for a textured surface at the Dee Why end of the beach. But it didn’t matter much because the swell at sea was 1.3 metres at 11 seconds from 166° and therefore seemed to be both skipping past the point and not doing much of anything up the beach toward No Mans. If you dial in an expectation of knee to maybe waist high, plus a bit choppy and weak, you should have a reasonable idea of what you’ll find. Tide’s coming into the 1.45m high at 1255 and water is 18C on what should be a mostly sunny day with afternoon NE’ly wind.

I’m not seeing much of interest in the models this morning. The consensus seems to be that today will bumble along pretty much as it is now and then tomorrow it all goes NE and probably gets a little weaker and smaller. By Friday the NE wind bump may get into the waist to even chest plus range at better exposures, so it might be an idea to pencil in a surf check for that morning… And, beyond that, the weekend through to early next week look kind of summery wavewise, ie weak but surfable NE wind bump.

Have yourself a great Tuesday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system in the western Tasman Sea is expected to drift gently east over the coming days, directing northerly winds along the New South Wales coast. Winds are forecast to strengthen throughout today as a slow-moving trough enters the far west of the state. This trough will linger over inland New South Wales until Friday or Saturday when it will cause a southerly change over parts of the Coastal Waters.
