Hello Friends,
High overcast and light winds together with 1.4 metres of 8-second east windswell, saw glassy, soft, waist plusses on an incoming tide at Dee Why. We’re heading to a high of 27C with an 80% chance of rain in the 3-8mm range. The wind will come up to 15-20 kts from the N to NE, so the current conditions aren’t likely to last for long. Plus the 2 metre high tide at 1120 won’t be contributing in a positve way.
Outlook is for the little stuff to continue through Thursday, but we could see a bump up into the waist to chest range at better exposures on Friday. On Saturday the models show the arrival of the next south regime with a 3+ metres of 10 second dead south energy… and strong S-SSE wind. Right now it would seem that Sunday will be a little smaller, but just as blowy from the south. Monday could see better, if smaller conditions at south magnets as the wind forecast is calling for light WSW’ly breezes early.
Big shout out to my wife and all her teacher colleagues going out on strike today. It’s sadly necessary because the profession is not only slipping steadily further behind on the wages front, they’re also suffering from major shortages of teachers which has lead to longer hours and bigger classes.

A high over the Tasman Sea will continue drifting slowly southeast towards New Zealand, while maintaining a ridge along the NSW coast. The ridge along the coast will decline during today as an area of low pressure moves eastwards, south of Tasmania, and pushes a trough and southerly change up the coast later today and into Wednesday.
