Clean with possibilities

Hello Friends,

Partly cloudy skies and clean lines as the last Monday of autumn kicks off. Swell at sea was 1.9 metres at 8 seconds from the SSE. I saw what looked to be a solid head high set (pic below) up the beach toward the pole and there were little lines at the point. However, given there were only a handful of folks in the water, I’m guessing the wait for good ones will be long. An average period of 8 seconds means waves will be on the weak and gutless end of the power spectrum. Still, the other elements, were looking good. Wind was a very light NW as of 0830 and tide was just past the moderate 1.38 m high at 0810.

But…

There is an 80% chance of rain this afternoon and the Bureau says the wind will ramp up into the 30 kt range as the day goes along. That’ll scrub the south corner options.

The gale warning for later today will happen again tomorrow but there will likely be even less swell energy for the next couple of days.

So, get amongst it if you can and have a top old Monday!

Weather Situation

A deep low south of the Bight and an associated cold front is approaching southeastern Australia. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds will tend strong to gale force north to northwesterly today ahead of the cold front which is expected to reach the coast overnight tonight as the low moves across the southern Tasman Sea. Winds will turn strong to gale force westerly on Tuesday following the passage of the front and more southwesterly on Wednesday.
