Sunny surfing day for Sydney

Hello Friends,

Looking fun at Dee Why with waves in the chest to maybe head high range at both the point and up the beach toward the pole. Skies are sunny and wind was coming from the WNW at 10-13 kts as of 0930. The Bureau says the wind will go SW soon and that the swell will fade out across the day. As of 0930 it was 2 metres at a shade under 9 seconds from the 153° (SSE). Tide hit high at 0930 and will drop back by a metre to the low at 1505. Weather should be sunny with a high of 16C. Beachwatch reports good water quality at most places apart from the lagoon entrances and the Manly stretch. Water temp is on 19C.
Outlook is for the energy to fade out over the next three days before our next pulse arrives from the south Monday night. If the long range predictions have anything to do with reality, it seems we should have a week of waves from Tuesday onward…
Have a great day, go well, and please mask indoors. The virus is airborne and every time you catch it, you’re rolling the dice on long term health issues. Masks work.

Weather Situation

A trough near the northern New South Wales coast is combining with a high pressure system over western NSW to generate showers and strong southerly winds for the northern coast. Conditions are expected to ease today as the high drifts further east and the trough weakens. On the weekend, northwesterly winds are forecast to increase ahead of the passage of a cold front. This front is likely to bring a southerly change to southern parts on Monday, with unsettled conditions returning along the coast as another low pressure trough develops in the region.
