Tiny sunny Sunday morning bumps

Hello Friends,

Slightly hazy under high cloud but mostly sunny skies this morning along the beaches. Surf situation is looking marginal at best. The combo of a high tide at 0850 and a straight south swell meant there were deceptively surfable looking sets which, as they approached offered some hope, but more often than not faded out before doing much. You could pick up the odd sub-waist high runner in closer to the sand, but that looked to be about it at the Dee Why end.

Wind was westerly, so conditions were nice and smooth and since the south swell is set to push up during the day, the relevant magnet spots could start getting interesting. Swell at sea was 2 metres and coming from 188° at 9 seconds apart. Water quality is good and ocean is 18C according to Beachwatch.

Have a good one!

Weather Situation

Fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds are easing as a trough that brushed the central and northern coastal waters early this morning is moving offshore. Later today winds along the southern coast may briefly tend westerly as a cold front passes to the south. After this, winds are forecast to ease and turn northeasterly by the middle of the week as a high pressure system slowly moves across the Bass Strait, reaching the Tasman Sea by Wednesday.
