Grey little morning

Hello Friends,

Monday morning sees a knee to maybe waist high S-SE swell trickling in to the peaks up the beach from Dee Why. Surface conditions were clean thanks to a light SW breeze. Out at sea the swell was 1.5 metres at 9 seconds and coming from 165°. The Bureau says the already marginal swell will fade across the day, so if you’re keen, get out the door asap.

The outlook hasn’t changed much overnight. This morning’s swell models are still telling us to expect the tiny and marginal conditions to persist tomorrow, but maybe to perk up a tiny bit for the Wednesday early session. From Thursday through Saturday it looks like being strongly SE both in terms of swell and wind. Here’s hoping the conditions will settle by Sunday and that we’ll head into next week with reasonable wave prospects.

Go well with your day and stay safe!

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure will weaken over the east of the state today. Winds will shift north to northeasterly during the afternoon as the high weakens and a trough approaches from the west. The trough is expected to cross the coast early Wednesday, bringing a west to southwesterly change to central and northern waters. A low pressure centre is likely to deepen off the southern coast later Wednesday as strong high develops well to the south, with potential to bring increased winds and swell during the latter part of the week.
