Waves to be had this morning

Hello Friends,

First sight of the sea for your correspondent in many days and happy to be resuming reports with something nice to say. It was glassy and in the chest to maybe shoulder range on sets at Dee Why as of 0730. As you can see from the pics, it was also pretty busy along the beach. There were a few people in the water at the point, but it looked to be quite a wait for a catchable one. Tide was low at 0530, so that may account for the high ratio of shutdowns to makeable ones along the beach.  Swell at sea was 1.45 m at 8 seconds from the NE. Tide’s set to be 1.9 metres at noon, so I’d expect it to be fat and full for at least a couple of hours either side of that mark. Of course by then the NE wind will be in the 15-20 kt range. Water’s clean and a summery 24C.

Weather should be partly cloudy today as we head to a high of 29 along the coast. Tomorrow promises to be hotter still, but we should still have waves and favorable winds for the early (tide will be coming in from the 0.45m low at 0630).

We’ll see what the mighty Goat has to say tomorrow, but my quick take is that it’ll be okay again tomorrow, but the rest of the holiday weekend may not be quite as interesting. Then again, I could be totally wrong!

Have a great Wednesday everyone.
