Thursday firing up nicely

Hello Friends,

Thursday morning sees surf options for Dee Why with sunny skies at a light north breeze as of 0830. You want to get on it ASAP though because the Bureau says the swell energy will decline across the day. As you can see from the pics, the sets looked to be in the chest to shoulder high range (maybe a bit bigger on the bombs). Swell at sea was 1.25 metres at 14.7 seconds from 159°(SSE). Water is 19 and clean according to Beachwatch. The first tide of the day is the 1.5m high at 0930.

The Goat should have a few thoughts about the surf week ahead later today, but from what I’m seeing this morning, it looks like basically being dominated by short-period stuff into the front half of next week. But check back later to see what the wise one thinks.

Go well!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is generating northerly winds along central and southern parts of the coast, and east to southeasterly winds in the north. On Thursday and Friday, north to northwesterly winds are expected to increase ahead of a cold front, which will bring a fresh to strong south to southwesterly change to the southern waters on Saturday. After this, winds are forecast to weaken as a new high pressure system extends a ridge across the region from the west.
