"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Not much for surfers this morning

Hello Friends,

At 0730 we had 10-15 kts of north wind, partly cloudy skies, and a metre of dead south swell which was coming in at 10 seconds apart. The best south exposures might be seeing the odd waist high set, but Dee Why looks to be nearly flat. There’s a strong wind warning for 15-25 kts of NW’ly later, so that’s not going to help the surf situation.

Being a Thursday, I’m looking forward to the Goat’s thoughts for the week ahead. A quick glance at the swell models this morning painted a pretty ho-hum picture for the next few days, but we’ll see what his Goatness has to say later.

In the meantime, have yourself a happy and safe Thursday everyone.

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure system near the northeast New South Wales Coast is heading to the northern Tasman Sea, resulting in a northerly wind shift in most areas today. Northwesterly winds will freshen on this morning ahead of a cold front, then the passage of the front during the second half of today will bring a fresh to strong west to southwesterly wind change in its wake. Winds will abate through the latter part of the week as a high pressure ridge extends across the coastal waters before freshening of southerly winds on Sunday as a trough brushes across the southern and central parts of the coast.
