Hello Friends,
You have to be very keen this morning. There are waves of a sort, but it’s extremely messy along the open stretches and only barely catchable at places like the point. The fact that there’s almost no one in the water tells you what the majority opinion is.
Wind was SW as of 0930 but is due to swing NE soon. So, conditions aren’t going to improve.
Tomorrow the call is for SW wind early and southerly later with a combo of south and NE wind swell. On Thursday we go back to southerly conditions. Beyond that, the swell forecast models are not looking all that great. Essentially it looks like a lot of partly cloudy weather, afternoon onshores and choppy, short-period swell. Spring, in a word.
Have a great day!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge across the east while an inland trough is deepening, directing moist northeasterly winds. The ridge in the east will be replaced by a coastal trough that will move across the southern and central parts of the coast today before reaching the north coast by midweek, bringing a southerly wind change in the wake. This weather pattern will be largely unchanged through the week due to the slow movement of the troughs and a cradling high pressure ridge to the south.
