Surfin’ Monday morning

Hello Friends,

Go surfin’ if you can!

It’s not big, but it looked clean and chest plus on sets. Swell out at sea is a mix of SE and E with the latter dominating at 1.8 metres at 8 seconds apart. Wind was NNW at 5-7 kts as of 0800, but it’ll go NE and be a standard issue 10-15 kts by this afternoon. From a quick glance at the charts, this could well be the best day of the coming week.

Tide is coming into a very swampy 1.99 m at 1100. It then drains out to a mere 0.17 low at 1730.

Weather should be mostly sunny with a high of 29.

Go well and have fun!

Weather Situation

A coastal trough lingering about the north coast is weakening as a high-pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea tracks further east towards New Zealand while extending a ridge over eastern New South Wales and directing a north to northeasterly airstream along the coast. Then a new cold front and its associated trough looks set to bring a fresh and gusty southerly wind change along the southern and central parts of the coast on Wednesday, reaching the Mid North Coast by Thursday, before weakening and heading back to the south later in the week.
