Hello Friends,
The Bureau tells us we’re in for a major rain event between now and Saturday. That won’t improve water quality, but then again, it doesn’t look as though surfers will be tempted to get in again until around Sunday morning. If the models have it right, Sunday could be sunny and offshore with 2 metres or so of 9-second east swell. Between now and then… stay dry!
Weather Situation
A weak trough lies on the far north coast while a ridge extends through Bass Strait into the southern Tasman Sea. Today and Friday an inland trough is expected to deepen with a low forming over the northern inland on Friday. During the same period the coastal trough is expected to deepen somewhat and move steadily south with a small, transient coastal low likely in the trough, and with winds south of the trough expected to strengthen. The inland low and coastal trough are expected to move further south thru Saturday with the strong winds contracting south.
