The Sunday crowd was assembling from early for another day pretty morning with catchable waves in the knee to waist plus range at Dee Why. Although there were around 20 in the water at the point, I didn’t see any obvious reason for the numbers. It looked inconsistent and, as it has all week, smaller than what was on offer along the beach.
Wind was light westerly from daybreak and swell at sea continues to putter along with this morning seeing 1.5 metres of 12-second energy from the SSE. Tide was coming into the modest 1.3 metre high at 1015. It’ll be back out to the 0.67 low at 1540. Weather outlook is for sunny and 21-22 for most of the coming work week. Swell intensity looks like remaining pretty similar to today too.

A trough over the southern waters will gradually weaken during the weekend while a ridge of high pressure extends towards the northern waters from a high centred near Tasmania. This high will gradually move northeast over the coming days, maintaining a ridge along the New South Wales coast.
