You could get wet

Hello Friends,

As of 0900, just as the tide was peaking, the wind was 3-5 kts from NW and out at sea the east swell was 1.2 metres at 9-10 seconds apart. Weather was sunny as we head to a high of 26, the water was still a unnaturally warm 24. Surf at Dee Why was in the waist to chest-high range along the beach, and really, not much above the waist high mark at the point.

The wind will swing to the SE soon and there’s a 50% chance of showers this afternoon. The showery stuff will take over until Friday morning, but the wind regime should be mostly SW’ly from tomorrow.  The NSW nearshore wave tool projects 1.5-ish metre, SE-ish swell through to midweek and then, on Thursday, the modeling shows swell kicking up into the 2-3 metre range for what could be an interesting Friday morning…

Go well everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge along the New South Wales coast, maintaining generally east to northeasterly winds across coastal waters. Winds are expected to shift southerly along southern and central parts of the coast today as a front moves north along the coast. A new high pressure system will move eastwards from the Bight following the front, re-establishing a ridge across New South Wales waters from mid-week, with winds tending east to southeasterly.
