Hello Friends,
From Sydney south to the border it looks to be near flat. Dee Why was showing ankle to knee high bumps this morning as the tide was coming back in to a 1.25 m high at 1250. Should be sunny and mild all day with light and variable winds from the north to NE. The MHL buoy was detecting 0.75 m of 10-11 sec SE bump as of 0700 and their nearshore forecast says it’s going to be like this until around midday Wednesday.
Outlook on the long range models points to a significant south swell event next weekend. The Bureau’s model shows swell building into the two metre range Friday morning and then ramping from there into 3-4 m range in our area and up to 5 metres on the far south coast. Other models then project it topping out in the 5-7 m range on Sunday. Of course when it gets that big, the wind is usually blasting. Right now it appears that it’ll be coming from the westerly quarters at 20-30 kts through the weekend.
So flat now, interesting late in the week.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
Weather Situation

This is directing mostly light southeast to northeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast today. Tomorrow winds will tend northerly as the high moves over the Tasman Sea. Later on Tuesday or Wednesday a trough is forecast to bring a fresh southerly change to southern parts of the coast.
