Hello Friends,
Not the most appetizing morning for a surf – despite the occasional sunny break. Wind was out of the ESE at 10-15 kts before 0700. Swell has shifted around a bit more to the SE (156-160°) and is a couple of metres at 11 seconds. So there is energy, but as the pictures show, it’s really messy thanks to the wind.
There’s a 70 percent chance of more showers too.
Sadly it looks as though the dire onshore situation will last through to Thursday evening – although it looks like north to NE wind on Thursday so there might be a few options in the corners for tiny wind bump excitement. Sadly there’s nothing much of interest in the very long range swell models this morning. Here’s hoping it improves before we get there.
Have yourself a great Tuesday everyone!
Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is extending a ridge into New South Wales, while a trough lies along the coast. The high will drift slowly east during the next few days, bringing a gradual shift from southeasterly to northeasterly winds in most coastal areas. Increasing northerly winds will precede the next cold front, which is forecast to cross the far southern coast by early Friday, and remaining parts by the end of Saturday.
