Despite the southerly conditions we’ve been experiencing since late yesterday evening, the surf has not risen much at all. Weather is expected to be fine for the weekend, and the surf looks like continuing small to medium, which is also fine because there have been plenty of fun waves through the week - you just have to exploreto find the right waves at the right time/right place/right tide.
Outlook for the annual Avalon Beach surf swim on Sunday look ideal – should be a fine day with a light North East breeze for the start, freshening through the day. Free parking while the swim is on, no need to driev to one beach get picked up at another, clean water are all pluses for this fundraiser for Avalon Beach SLSC. Water temp at Av should be around 21 on the day, recovering from the cooler upwelling patches that followed several days of NE wind last week.
Surf outlook :
Friday: about 1 metre ta dead South places.
Saturday: about 1 metre South East, turning through the East during the day.
Sunday: about 1 metre East North East, gradually rising later in the day 1-2 metre range.
Monday: in the 1-2 metre rnage East South East.
Tuesday: Ditto.
Wednesday: about 1 mtere East.
Thursday: Ditto.
