Wave machine still working

Hello Friends,

Good news. The swell hasn’t gone away. Very brisk temps thanks to the blustery southwesterly of 15-20 kts. According to the Bureau, it’ll push up into the 20-30 kt range later. I reckon the steamers will be out this morning, even though the water is summery warm.

Swell looks to have a bit of east to it still, but the MHL buoys were off the air when I wrote this, so take it with a grain of salt. Sets are into shoulder high plus range at the point and looking pretty clean. There were a couple bods in the beachy too, but we’re still waiting for those banks to reappear (ie, lots of shutdowns).

The models continue to show a pulse arriving tomorrow morning from the south which should increase the surf size noticeably. My guess is that instead of occasional head high sets, it’ll be head high with occasional overhead bombs.

Then, if the projections are to be believed, it’s set to ramp up into the 2x overhead range Thursday arvo and then go a bit bigger than that on Friday, before peaking into the potentially triple overhead range at south spots on Saturday. Sunday could be back around to the Thr levels and Monday might look like today… not a bad sort of outlook you’d have to say.

Hope to come up with a few more piccies today, so stay tuned. Oh, and have yourself a brilliant Wednesday.
