More waves, but smaller

Hello Friends,

Swell settings on Wednesday morning look to be quite similar to yesterday afternoon, ie a couple metres of SE swell. However, the all important power setting has pushed up by another second or so to 11 seconds on average. As well there are some 13 second sets in amongst it, so every now and again a pretty solid looking one hits the point at Dee Why.

Wind is light for the early but the Bureau has posted a gale warning for powering west-northwesterlies this afternoon.

The windy conditions will probably start to hold more swell out to sea, but I’d be surprised if it came anywhere near getting too small to surf.

This morning’s run of the swell forecast models continues to show a fresh pulse coming in overnight. If it lives up to the more optimistic estimates, we could potentially see double overhead bomb sets at south swell magnets on Friday morning – with westerly wind. And then on Saturday they are still predicting some possibly massive (3+ metres @ 15sec) south hitting late and lasting into Sunday morning.

In short boys and girls, the super computers have calculated that we are in for waves, waves, waves!

Go well!
