"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Nice start to Monday

Hello Friends,

If you don’t mind disgusting water, there were some clean and fun looking waves to be had around the place this morning.

Swell is out of the east at about 1.5 metre with an average period of around 8 seconds. Wind was out of the SW too, so surface conditions were looking pretty reasonable from Dee Why to Northy (and everywhere else no doubt).

The wind will be around to the SE later though, so get on it if you’re in a mood to test the old immune system. Tide will hit low at around 1220, so by the time it starts coming back in again, that wind’ll probably be hacking it about.

This morning’s swell forecast riffing by the various riffers on the basic data is showing quite a significant SE pulse developing overnight Wednesday into Thursday. We’re talking 3-4 metres, so if they have it right, we’ll get some serious energy levels. The big question is what the wind will be doing. Some predictions have it as southerly early Thursday, swinging a touch SW but still pushing pretty hard. Plus, it looks as though the continuous shower activity will be a factor as well.

Good to see some real size in the forecasts again… now if we could just get the rest of the picture tweaked up…

Go well with your Monday!

Weather Situation
A trough is moving slowly east across the state linked to a low near Tasmania with an associated southerly change reaching the South Coast later tonight. The low will move across the southern Tasman Sea on Monday with the change moving along the coast and stalling in the far north later in the day. A high will be moving from the Bight towards Tasmania on Tuesday with a ridge strengthening across most of the state and a southerly airstream dominating along the coastline. A low may develop off the North Coast on Wednesday and move towards the South Coast on Thursday, but the exact position of the low and its potential impact on coastal areas are uncertain at this stage.
