"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Messy but if you’re keen there are options

Hello Friends,

Swell energy is around the same level as yesterday, ie 3 metres at about 8 seconds apart. What’s changed is the swell direction. It’s now coming from the SE and that will open up a few more options. Surface conditions are pretty messy though. Even at Dee Why, the only practical option is the point and it’s far from clean. Around at the Collaroy Narrabeen stretch there’s energy as well, but there were no takers and it looked to be overwhelmingly shutting down. Didn’t see anyone in the water having a go either.

The reason it’s so bumpy? 10-20 kts of S-SE wind.

The forecast tells us that it’ll be sticking around all day. Tomorrow it should back off and the swell should still be around, but smaller. Then Wednesday it looks like the wind will be back to a more useful light northerly as the swell continues to fade (but with luck, not going to flat).

Have a great Monday!

Weather Situation
A complex low situated over the eastern Tasman Sea, combined with a high over the Alps, is maintaining a fresh to strong southerly airstream along the northern New South wales coast. Winds will gradually ease from the south during the next day or two as the low moves further away to the east and as the high drifts slowly into western Tasman Sea. Northerly airstream will develop and freshen in the south on Wednesday ahead of a chain of cold fronts approaching from the west.
