Clean before the wind

Hello Friends,

If you were into it early there were clean chest to head high plus sets to be had at SE spots this morning. Swell was mainly from the SE at around 2 metres with an average period of about 9 seconds. However, there is some 14 second component in the mix and that is probably what was responsible for an overhead set I saw hit Dee Why beach. The point was smaller and less consistent.

The wind forecast unfortunately is for stiff southerlies. So it’s likely that the early sesh will turn out to be the best.

Tide was high at 0520 and will be low at 1235.

With any luck, all the wind later today will help the swell hang around at some sort of level for another day. So, if you missed out on this morning’s waves, there’s a chance you’ll get a bite at the cherry tomorrow.

This morning’s swell forecast models are not extra flash looking. Indeed, they pretty much all are projecting a week of minorness coming up. There seems to be a chance of something interesting next weekend, but that is obviously pretty far in the future, so I’m not making plans just yet.

Have yourself a great Saturday!
