Tuesday and it’s tiny… again

Teeny-tiny lines
Hello Friends,

Argh! Still with the near-flatness this morning. Only the faintest of faint east wind swell’s dribbling into the Dee Why stretch. Had to wait ages to get this morning’s shot of someone milking a gutless one-footer onto the sand. I really admire the keeness and it’s otherwise a beautiful morning too.

From the look of this morning’s swell modelling, we can’t really expect an improvement until late Wednesday. And then it looks as though the best hope for a wave will be up north. Erstwhile reporter PB and I are planning to make a run up that way on Wednesday to see if we can find something above the knee high mark. Network connections willing, I’ll post an update or two on how we go…

The long range outlook remains pretty bleak I have to say. Spring is not getting off to a great start along the east coast.

Given the approaching election, I wanted to share a couple of useful links with my fellow voters.

First, if you haven’t joined the million or so Australians who’ve used votecompass to check out which of the parties best matches their interests/views, then I heartily commend it to you. Really a good way to see which of the parties policies is the best fit with what you really care about.

One of the many things I love about being an Australian citizen is being able to direct my preferences when I vote. There are a heap of minor parties this time around, so I was stoked to find the Cluey voter site because it lets me plug in my preferences and then gives me a print out with all the parties in the optimal order. Won’t take me half an hour to work my way through the ballot this time.

Finally, you know what I’m going to say next… we really need everyone to get on board the RealSurf crowdfunding drive, so I hope I can look forward to seeing your name among the pledgers very soon!

Have a great Tuesday!
