Waves on tap this morning

Hello Friends,

As expected we still have a little east swell sticking around this morning. It was 1.7 metres on average with a typical period of close to 15 seconds at 0400 and by 0730 that was translating into sets wave faces into the shoulder to head high range on take off at Dee Why point. During the time I watched, I saw a reasonable number of waves come through there, but not up the beach (where there were also a lot fewer people).

Wind was light but is expected to be 10-20 kts north to NW at first, turning east to NE later.

Tide will be low at 1035 and back to high at 1640.

Hope to be back later with a few thoughts about the outlook, but gotta run now. Have fun with your day!

Weather Situation
A lingering trough lies through central and southern parts of the coast, associated with a cold front to the southeast of Tasmania. A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to the northern coast, while a second high pressure system over the Bight extends another ridge to the south coast. During Tuesday the intense weather associated with the trough will begin to move further to the south and weaken as the high pressure ridge over Tasmania strengthens. By Wednesday the high pressure system over the Bight, is forecast to move into the Tasman Sea, where it will become slow moving.
