Surf forecast issued Friday 9 May 2014: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Waves of varying size and quality for the weeekend and week ahead ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Saturday: 1-2 metre range going down, South East

Sunday: about 1 metre at dead South places

Monday: coming up a bit in the 1-2 metre range at dead South places

Tuesday: 1-2 metre range South East

Wednesday: ditto, slightly bigger

Thursday: ditto, but down a bit

Friday: about 1 metre or less South East.

Water temp is around 23 pleasant degrees.

Was a shame to read of the passing of Dave Jackman, age 74, one of the pioneers of modern Australian surfing and especially big wave surfing in the 1960s.  A surfing inspiration to aspiring grommets at the time.  I think I still have that issue of Surfing World with him on the cover.
