Light NNE breeze to start but ocean still looking pretty junky and messy at Dee Why. That said, there were a few folks in the water looking for the odd catchable one. Swell at sea is around two metres but the average period is around the 8-second mark, so size isn’t likely to get much above chest high at the magnet spots. And they’re looking pretty feeble. At Dee Why it was closer to knee to waist on the rideable ones. Hazy and cloudy to start and no sign of the 80% likely showers for the moment.
Next tide is a high at 0935.
The swell forecast models are showing a gradual but slight rise of in the average size of the swell at sea over the next few days. It’s not looking like getting big or anything, but at least the trend isn’t downward. Mornings will be the go because the NE wind promises to be an issue through the rest of the work week.

A high over the Tasman Sea will move slowly east and strengthen during the next few days while a low pressure system deepens over the Coral Sea, and another over southern Queensland. This pattern will direct generally northeasterly winds along the coast through to the weekend.
