"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Waiting for a change on both sides

Hello Friends,

Partly cloudy, light winds and a touch of south swell for Sydney this morning. Tide’s high at 0645 or so. From the look of things, the metre of 13-sec south swell being picked up by the MHL buoy last night should still be around that intensity this morning. My guess is that there will be the odd little peak in the knee plus range at optimally angled stretches, but not a lot more.

The models are still showing a solid south pulse ramping up on Thursday afternoon to the accompaniment of fresh SW wind. Friday continues to shape as the peak day with mostly sunny weather and weakening SW breezes. You lucky pups!

Nothing much to share from Santa Barbara aside from a couple of snaps below that show some little afternoon windswell bumps at a spot I’ve often mentioned, Mesa Lane. Period was 5-7 seconds, so although they were waist plus on the faces, they were also very weak. I’m hoping we’ll get something like that later today. Water here is only a degree or two cooler than Sydney.

Have yourself a great Tuesday everyone and stay happy.
