Monday morning and still micro but later maybe

Hello Friends,

Running late, so just a quick note for now. Swell is still micro as of 0800 but the Bureau is calling for south swell to start filling in from around midday. Looking down the coast at the Port Kembla MHL buoy, it seems there’s a tiny uptick showing from the south. The average period’s bumped up a touch to nearly 10 seconds but it’s only a metre.
I’ll be out and about on the usual Manly run soon, so expect a picture or two later in the day.
Tide’s low at 1020 and wind’s due to come up from the SW at 15-20 kts at around the same time as the south swell’s starting to become obvious.
Swell’s due to peak tomorrow in the 2-3 metre range and the wind should be SW through the day.

As of 0900 it was micro from Manly to Longy. Biggest wave I saw was the one shown below which I shot at south Curly. There were other people in the water up the beach, but they weren’t catching anything. The bloke at the south end had it wired both in terms of the peak and his equipment.
Around the corner at Dee Why conditions were similar to Manly – ie, flat or near enough. Again, a couple of hopefuls were sitting up the beach near the lugga, but I never saw them catch anything. The Dee Why end of the beach was a lake.

Will keep an eye on it and if anything happens, I’ll update.
