Swell should be on the way

Hello Friends,

Wrote the post and then raced off without pushing the send button. So, here it is somewhat belatedly. I now know that the swell is definitely showing more at Freshy and Curly, but Freshy’s all shutdowns all the time. Heaps of shutdowns at Curly as well, but I did see a few makeable chest plus options. See pics down the page…

Here’s my 0745 post…

Swell was coming from the SSE at 14 seconds with an average height of 1.7 metres as of 0600. A stiff westerly was pushing anything of interest away from Dee Why. As of 0715 I couldn’t see anyone in the water from the point up to about No Mans. The line is long and clean, but Dee Why’s not your spot.

The Bureau says the swell should increase across the morning, so there ought to be something at the south magnets. I’ll get a look at the Manly to DY stretch soon, and I’m guessing Curly will be the biggest option again, but I’m also expecting the long line to not be working well with the almost featureless banks.

Tide was low at 0645 and will be high again at 1305. Wind is expected to go SW and be in the 15-20 kt range.

Outlook is for the energy levels to bounce around in the current mainly marginal range for another couple of days, but some of the swell prediction moedels for this weekend and showing a longish period south pulse filling in on Saturday and lasting into Sunday. Beyond that, there doesn’t seem to be much of interest for us.

Have yourself a top old Thursday and stay happy!
