Sunday dribblers, but not flat for the morning sesh

Hello Friends,

Apparently there’s a 70% chance of showers today. You wouldn’t have known it from this morning’s conditions. Skies were hazy but largely cloud free and wind was coming lightly from the NNE. At 0500 the MHL buoy was showing a mix of SSE and ESE wind swell. The dominant energy was out of the ESE at 1.5 metres but you don’t get much power from a 6 second period.

Set wave faces along the beach at Dee Why were in the waist to chestish range, although it looked like a fair old wait for one. There was one person in the water at the point when I checked at 0800, but the only wave I saw ridden was by a passing rescue ski.

Outlook is for the NE’r to pick up into the 15-20 range soon. Tide’s coming in to a high at 1235. Temps should be 26 along the coast.

Monday’s set to see 15-20 kts of northerly wind in the morning ahead of a late south to SE change and Tuesday’s going to be southerly 15-20 kts – with not much of anything swell-wise. The trend thereafter looks like being gradually upward and by Thursday there could be some fun size with light winds for the early.

Your’s truly will be on the other side of the planet come Wednesday, so no pics from the beaches out of me until December. Of course I’ll be checking out the conditions, the forecasts and the models as well as sending regular postcards from SoCal. I’m looking for folks who could grab a snap (even from a phone!) of conditions (any beach, any time, really) which I can share with everybody. If you’re interested, drop me a line via the contact form or email me directly (don [at] realsurf [dot] com). And yes, if you want to get a URL out there, I’m happy to share that info with any images I publish.

Have yourself a top old Sunday and keep on smilin’!
