Small waves for the early but wind threatens

Hello Friends,

Light wind inshore most places at 0630 and a few little scraps of yesterday’s SSE swell at the magnets. But the NE’r is coming. At 0400 the MHL buoy was still showing some near 14-sec period SSE stuff and that was periodically delivering waist to chest wave faces at spots like No Mans, Longy and Northy. Wind is set to ramp up to 15-20 kts later and at 0630 it was already looking pretty dark out at sea. Inshore was smooth though. Tide wasn’t too bad early, but by noon – when the wind is likely to be with us – it’ll be high.

By the way, today’s your last opportunity to win a couple of spots on a Maldives trip with the good folks at The Perfect Wave. All you have to do is join Surfrider for $25. You were gonna do it anyway, so tick this off your list today! (ps: I believe odds are super short on this one)

The forecast isn’t looking too friendly for tomorrow. The NE wind will be, if anything, blowing harder than what’s forecast for today. The south swell is expected to have faded out as well, so my guess is that your best shot will be wind bump chasing in the afternoon at those summer NE spots.

Have a great day and get wet early!
